Gladys P. Deetz, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan. Gladys worked for over eleven years at Dairy Queen in Bryan, Mendleson’s Egg Factory and Carbin Brush, both in West Unity, Ohio. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Bryan and the American Legion Auxiliary in West Unity. Born on March 22, 1925, in Flint, Indiana, the daughter of Byron and Arlene (Holiday) Slick, she married George W. Deetz on September 10, 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Deetz is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Jim) Watson, of Bryan; grandchildren, Lori (Tom) Prusnek, of Mount Blanchard, Ohio, and Robert (Jessica) Watson, of Bryan; great-grandchildren, Katie Prusnek and Hunter Watson; and a sister, Lorene Youngs, of Quincy, Michigan. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were two sisters, Cleota Thompson and Geneva Waller, and one great-grandson, Tyler Prusnek. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 10, 2012, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Dorothy Ritchey-Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, Indiana. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2012. Memorials in the name of Gladys P. Deetz may be given to the Faith United Methodist Church or Hillside Country Living.
