Barbara A. Fikel, age 58, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 8:30 P.M. on Friday, November 23, 2012, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio. Barbara was a laborer at Powers & Sons for over thirty years. She was a member of Clear Lake Bible Church and Montpelier Eagles Aerie #2246. Barbara was born on January 1, 1954, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Hugh Mac and Theresa (Aldrich) Skiles. She was a graduate in the 1972 class of Edon High School. On August 18, 1972, she married Kenneth R. Fikel in the Bethlehem Christian Union Church and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Kenneth R. (Stacy) Fikel II, of Nettle Lake, Ohio; one daughter, Carrie (Joseph) Platt, of Reading, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Allysia Fikel, Trevor Fikel, Tiana Craig, Tevin Craig, Brenna Fikel, Bralin Fikel and Joseph Platt III; her father, Hugh Mac Skiles, of Fremont, Indiana; one sister, Elaine (Gail) Skiles, of Quincy, Michigan; and two brothers, Kevin (Donna) Skiles, of Fremont, Indiana, and Kenneth (Becky) Skiles, of Goose Creek, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her mother. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at the Clear Lake Bible Church, 9050 E 700 N, Fremont, Indiana 46737, with Pastor Bill Case officiating. Interment will follow in Columbia Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Community Health Professionals Home Health and Hospice or Clear Lake Bible Church.
