Leo A. Herman, age 78, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:53 P.M. on Friday, November 23, 2012, at his residence. Leo was a tool and die maker at Mohawk Tools for over thirty years and then worked at Nemco Food Division for another seven years until his retirement. He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan and was an avid gardener and wood worker. He loved fixing things, camping and spending winters in Florida. Leo A. Herman was born on September 13, 1934, in Edgerton, Ohio, the son of Murwin X. and LaMoile (Blinzler) Herman. He was a graduate in the 1952 class of Edgerton High School. He married Joan D. Combs in Kauai, Hawaii, on April 25, 1980, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, Joan, are his children, Duane (Carol) Herman, of Bryan, Cathy (Ronald) Fovargue, of Chicago, Illinois, Karen Ungerer, of Avilla, Indiana, Richard (Lisa) Parson, of Bay City, Michigan, and Nancy (Brent) Davis, of New Hudson, Michigan; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl (Carol) Herman, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Robert Herman, of Tennessee; and two sisters, Hilda (Bill) McCool, of Edgerton, and Regina Meyer, of Antwerp, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Peter and Augustin Herman, a brother-in-law, Paul Meyer, a son-in-law, Ron Ungerer, and a great-granddaughter, Hayley Shankster. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Father James Halleron officiating. Memorials may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice and Home Health or St. Jude’s Children's Hospital in Leo’s memory.
