Evelyn M. Allen, age 85, of rural Edgerton, Ohio, died at 1:17 P.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she was a patient. Mrs. Allen was a 1945 graduate of Edgerton High School. Throughout the years she was employed at Ohio Art Company and then Century Press and was a loyal farm wife, farming the family farms with her husband, Roland “Whitey” Allen. She was a member of County Cousins Home Extension Club and enjoyed gardening, raising her flowers and making crafts. Evelyn Allen was born on September 23, 1927, near Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Charley C. and Marie (Funk) Thomas. She married Roland D. “Whitey” Allen on April 25, 1953, near Edgerton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Belinda (Jeffrey) Robertson, of Edgerton, and Teresa (Roger) Brenner, of Wauseon, Ohio, three grandchildren, Haley Blakely, Heather Wildermuth and A. J. Brenner, and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kaitlyn Blakely. Visitation for Evelyn M. Allen will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Reverend Ron Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Evelyn M. Allen are requested to Farmer United Methodist Church.
