Evelyn Irene Bish

Evelyn Irene Bish, age 88, of Michigan City, Indiana, and formerly of Farmer, Ohio, died surrounded by friends and family on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the Arbors of Michigan City, where she was a resident. Mrs. Bish retired from the Holabird Furniture Company in Bryan, Ohio, with twenty-six and one-half years of service. She had previously worked at Desart’s False Face Factory in Montpelier, Ohio, and Spangler Candy Company in Bryan. She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Farmer. Evelyn Irene Bish was born on October 3, 1924, in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of William K. and Myrtle E. (Daring) Miller. She attended the Grover Hill School. Evelyn married Harry Loyd “Boone” Bish on April 12, 1939, in Grover Hill, Ohio. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2008, after 69 years of marriage. Mrs. Bish is survived by two daughters, Eileen (Robert) Gallant, of Michigan City, Indiana, and Louise (Marvin) Hartman, of Springfield, Ohio; one son, John Bish, of Bryan, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; 17 great-great- grandchildren; three brothers, Doyle (Kathrine) Miller, of Edon, Ohio, Wilbur (Kathy) Miller, of Bryan, and Kenneth (Martha) Miller, of Bryan; and two sisters, Sis (Walter) Brown, of Bryan, and Yvonne (Kenneth) Beck of Montpelier, Ohio. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her parents, two sons, Loyd Bish and Max Bish, two grandchildren, Robert Gallant and Dena (Gallant) Williamson, and three brothers, Wayne, Dwight and Elmer Miller. Services for Evelyn Irene Bish will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home at 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Slagle officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens near Defiance, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
