Robert Neil McGill, age 63, of Farmer, Ohio, passed away at 2:45 A.M. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in his home after a brief illness. Bob retired from JCIM in Bryan in 2011 and prior to that had worked at Johns-Manville and G.M. in Defiance, as well as his first job as assistant to the proprietor of McGill’s Café in Sherwood. His passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles was a lifelong pleasure. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving one tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star medal. He was also a loving son, brother, uncle, and father. Robert Neil McGill was born on April 17, 1949, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Robert Emmett and Gloria Dean (Rife ) McGill. Survivors include two children, Neil Robert McGill, of Bryan, and Audrey Leigh (Zach) Pepple, of Denver, Colorado, a brother, Larry (Arlette) McGill, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and two sisters, Carol Hull, of Sherwood, and Nancy (Dave) Owens, of Delware Bend, Ohio. Also surviving are his nephews and nieces, Jeremy (Amelie) McGill, Geoff (Tíne) McGill, Erie (Heidi) Hull, Andrea Hill, Miranda Suzanne Owens and Sarah (Jonathan) McCord. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Ted Mathes officiating. Following services, a luncheon celebrating Bob’s life will be held at the Bryan V.F.W. A memorial motorcycle ride will be held after the luncheon to the Sherwood V.F.W. Hall. Memorials are requested to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
