Leona L. (Hernandez) Ankney, age 43, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 12:01 A.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Montpelier in the emergency room. She was a member of The House of Prayer in Montpelier and enjoyed scrap booking, collecting dolls, playing cards and reading her Bible. She attended Bryan High School and worked in several area restaurants over the years. Leona was born on August 3, 1969, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Noe and Deborah (Frybarger) Hernandez, Sr. Leona is survived by her children, Tiffany Ankney, of Bryan, Kyle Ankney, of Glasgow, Kentucky, Jessica Ankney and Alicia Ankney, both of Bryan; her parents, Noe and Deborah Hernandez, Sr., of Benson, Arizona; two brothers, Noe (Tammy) Hernandez, Jr., of Montpelier, and Rudy (Nicol) Hernandez, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her paternal grandmother, Leonarda Hernandez, of Winter Haven, Florida, and her former husband, James Ankney, of Bryan. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Melissa Hernandez. Visitation for Leona L. (Hernandez) Ankney will be on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 6, 2012, with Pastor Don Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery near West Unity. Memorials in the name of Leona L. (Hernandez) Ankney may be given to The House of Prayer.
