Terry Lee Zimmer, age 54, of Defiance, Ohio, died at 1:20 A.M. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. Mr. Zimmer was a graduate of Fairview High School, where he was an accomplished multiple sport athlete and at one time held several records. He attended theology school and later became an apprentice auctioneer, as well as being a self-employed painter and carpenter. A jack of all trades, he was also a scuba diver, diving for mussels in the Tennessee River. Terry Lee Zimmer was born on June 8, 1958, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Larry J. and Mildred M. (Impton) Zimmer. Survivors include two sons, Jason (Fadra) Crampton, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Josh (Amber) Zimmer, of Defiance, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tyler, Savannah and Ciarrah Zimmer and Ryan Crampton; two sisters, Brenda Zimmer and Teresa Finch; and two brothers, David and Steve Zimmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Julie Zimmer. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery near Bryan. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., in the funeral home. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
