Vaughn L. Fitzcharles

Vaughn L. Fitzcharles, age 73, of Butler, Indiana, and formerly of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, September 3, 2012, at The Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, where he was a patient. Mr. Fitzcharles retired from the former Universal Tool in Butler, where he worked in the maintenance department. Vaughn L. Fitzcharles was born on May 15, 1939, in Edgerton, Ohio, the son of Alvin and Gertie (Wiles) Fitzcharles. He married Sharon K. (Harris) Gettys on March 1, 1979, in Coburn Corners, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Craig (Teri) Fitzcharles and Mark (Pat) Fitzcharles, both of Butler; one daughter, Tammy (Mark) Hohler of Edgerton; two stepsons, Mike Gettys and Bob (Kim) Gettys, both of Spencerville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two stepsons, Larry and Tom Gettys, and three brothers, Bob, Donald and Walter Fitzcharles. At Vaughn’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio, is handling arrangements. Private services and interment will take place at a later date.
