Morris Allen, age 89, of Defiance, Ohio, died after an extended illness on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Morris was a graduate of Farmer High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and also trained and owned race horses. Morris Allen was born on December 15, 1922, in Farmer Township in Defiance County, Ohio, the son of E. C. and Grace (Sewell) Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, L.D. Allen, Harold D. Allen and Roland Allen; six sisters, Zelma Peterson, M. Irene Allen, Marcile Allen, Edith LaRue, Maraguerite Snyder and Phyllis Kammeyer. He is survived by a sister, Esther Sipe, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Morris Allen will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Eric Burkhardt officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M on Saturday until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Farmer Cemetery with military honors provided by the Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
