Glen A. Thomas, age 79, of Bryan, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. Glen was a butcher at the former Dinner Bell Foods in Defiance and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Butler American Legion Post #202, a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, a longtime member of the Williams County Conservation Club and Williams County Archery Club and was a former member of the Bryan Moose Lodge #1064. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Born on March 29, 1933, in Butler, Indiana, Glen was the son of Gerald A. and Crystal (Moore) Thomas. He married Sally Ann Shook on August 16, 1958, in Bryan and she survives. Glen is also survived by his son, Bruce (Martha) Thomas, of Bryan, daughters, Bonnie Thomas, of Bryan, and Brenda (Scott) Spears, of Phoenix, Arizona, three grandsons and a great-grandchild that is expected soon. He is also survived by his brother, Leo (Jean) Thomas, of Bryan, sisters, Martha Reising, of Elmore, Ohio, Wilma Zeigler, of Archbold, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cesta Colvin, and brothers, George, Wayne, Lester and Stanley Thomas. A memorial service for Glen A. Thomas will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 4:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan with Pastor Scott Carlin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at a later date in Shiffler Cemetery. Memorial contributions in the name of Glen A. Thomas are requested to the family.
