Gary D. Flower, age 75, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 4:25 P.M. on Sunday, July 1, 2012, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Flower was a member of the Bryan High School class of 1955 and was employed by the Ohio Art Company, retiring with more than forty years of service. He also enjoyed tinkering on his farms. Gary was a Life Member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233, a former member of the Moose Lodge and Montpelier Masonic Lodge. He was an avid bow hunter and competed for many years in archery competitions where he was state ranked. Most of all he was known for his sense of humor. Gary Flower was born on April 10, 1937, in Pulaski Township of Williams County, Ohio, the son of Dale and Junetta “June” (Hartman) Flower. He married his wife of fifty-seven years, Martha A. Lucas on November 20, 1954, in New Albany, Indiana. In addition to his wife, Martha, survivors include one son, Randy Flower, of Columbus, Ohio, two daughters, Shari Ledyard, of Pioneer, Ohio, and Tamara (Jeff) Fulk, of Bryan, five grandchildren, Jeffery Fulk, Brock Fulk, Aaron Ledyard, Aric Ledyard and Amy McCague, and six great-grandchildren, Noah, Garrett, Jackson, Taylor, Blake and Graham, five brothers, Dan (Kathy) Grant, of Woodburn, Indiana, Bill Grant, of Bryan, LaVon (Lois) Flower, of Montpelier, Ohio, Rex Flower, of Montpelier, and Chuck Flower, of Bryan, and three sisters, Doris (Jim) Laser, of West Unity, Ohio, Theresa (Dave) McDowell, of Bryan, and Kathy Ensman, of Bryan. Also surviving is a dear family friend, Iris Donze, and his beloved dogs, Bella and Babes. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Don Flower, and four sisters, Toby Simpkins, Alice Deck, Vickie Flower and Jane Jeko. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with his brother, Dan Grant, officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan.
