Patricia Y. Weisz, age 72, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti, Michigan, where she was a patient. Mrs. Weisz was a 1957 graduate of Montpelier High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1972 and a Master’s degree in guidance in 1985, both from Bowling Green State University. She retired in 2002 as elementary guidance counselor after more than thirty years with the Edgerton Local Schools and previously taught at St. Joseph School in Blakeslee and St. Mary School in Edgerton. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed traveling and loved her grandchildren. Patricia Y. Weisz was born on November 26, 1939, in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Thelma (Jones) Amaden. She married Kenneth E. Weisz on August 17, 1958, in Montpelier, Ohio, and he survives. Also surviving are three sons, Scott Weisz, of Plymouth, Michigan, Mitchell (and wife, Janet) Weisz, of Canton, Michigan, and Col Bradley (and wife, Capt Karen Tsiantas, USN) Weisz, USMC of Norfolk, Virginia; four grandchildren, Leslie, Kevin, Jared and Laura Weisz; and one sister, Kathy (Richard) Maxwell, of Farwell, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Janet Lowery and Denise “Daisy” Refine, one son, Matthew, in 1983, and one daughter-in-law, Clara. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Emanuel United Methodist Church, Edgerton, with Reverend R.L. Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to the American Diabetes Association.
