Ruth I. Sechler, age 91, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 8:30 P.M. on Friday, May 4, 2012, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where she was a resident. Mrs. Sechler was a graduate of Edgerton High School. She was member of St. Mary Catholic Church and John D. Smith Post #10, American Legion Auxiliary, of which she was a member for more than fifty years. Ruth I. Sechler was born on December 3, 1920, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Ambrose and Ethel (Divert) Lirot. She married Lee H. “Pete” Sechler and he preceded her in death in 1990. Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Chuck) Johnston, of West Unity, Ohio, Violet “Sue” Imm, of Maumee, Ohio, and Betty (Gary) Barnhart, of St. George, Utah, one son, James (Linda) Sechler, of Monclova, Ohio, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Lee J. Sechler, in 1979, three brothers, Harold, Raymond and Richard Lirot, and three sisters, Arno Buchs, Hazel Buchs and Emma McCord. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Art Niewiadomski officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials are requested to St. Mary School or to the Edgerton Senior Center.
