Veda L. Hastings

Veda L. Hastings, age 92, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:55 A.M. on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan, where she was a resident. Mrs. Hastings was a 1937 graduate of Bryan High School and was employed by the Aro Corporation as a secretary, retiring with forty years of service. Her memberships include Faith United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose of which she was a charter member. Veda L. Hastings was born on November 25, 1919, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Russell and Lottie (Sell) Pickering. She married Albert Leeman Hastings on February 16, 1940, in Montpelier, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2002. Survivors include one son, Tom Hastings, of Bryan, two granddaughters, Lara L. (Mike) Wynne and Nicola (Griffith) Mosier, both of Farmer, Ohio, four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Emma Wynne and Andrew and Logan Mosier, one brother, Russell J. (Elaine) Pickering, of Bryan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Shannon Hastings. Grave side services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 1:30 P.M. in the Farmer Cemetery with Reverend Laura Bensman officiating. Visitation will be private. Memorials are requested to Faith United Methodist Church.
