Sam Mondoc, Jr., age 86, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Brookfield, Ohio, died at 9:37 A.M. on Monday, April 2, 2012, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. Mr. Mondoc was a retired steel worker, employed by US Steel in Masury, Ohio, for more than twenty-five years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. Sam Mondoc, Jr. was born on January 27, 1926, in Campbell, Ohio, the son of Sam and Sylvia Mondoc. Survivors include one daughter, April (John) Cook, of Edgerton, two sons, Eric (Cheri) Mondoc, of Douglasville, Pennsylvania, and John (Laura) Mondoc, of Casper, Wyoming, ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 4:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, followed by military rites conducted Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 P.M., in the funeral home. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
