Bonnie L. (Champion) Buell, age 71, of Hamilton, Indiana, died at 2:03 P.M. on Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, Indiana, where she was a patient for one week, from complications of a 2 ½ year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mrs. Buell was a 1958 graduate of Fremont (Indiana) High School and was a proud Fremont Eagle. She was employed early in her career at First Federal Savings and Loan in Angola, Indiana, and later worked with her good friends, Shirley Nickloy, cleaning homes for more than ten years, and for Carolyn Arnold Catering. Bonnie was an active member of the Edon United Methodist Church and was a member of the Angola Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, but most of all, she was a devoted housewife and mother on the family farm near Hamilton. Bonnie L. Buell was born on June 29, 1940, near Fremont, Indiana, the daughter of Wayne and Mildred (Skelly) Champion. She married Howard E. Buell on June 5, 1960, in Fremont and he survives. Survivors also include her mother, Mildred Champion, of Angola, Indiana, two sons, Jeffery (Carmen) Buell, of Homestead, Florida, and Timothy (Lena) Buell, of Amsterdam, Netherlands; three granddaughters, Bonnie V. Buell, Natalie Buell and Viktoria Buell; one grandson, Max Buell; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Harriette and Wes Gettys, of Thornville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Champion, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and four nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Robert Champion. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Edon United Methodist Church with Pastor David Miller and Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Edon United Methodist Church Brick Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
