David F. Elsworth, Sr., age 83, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 9:35 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient after a brief illness. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II, Mr. Elsworth was employed as a supervisor with Owens-Illinois Libby Glass, retiring with forty-three years of service. David F. Elsworth, Sr. was born on April 17, 1928, in Holcomb, Missouri, the son of William David and Martha Ionia (Boone) Ellsworth. He married Beth Ardith Gail Papenfuse, his wife and friend for life since 1958, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Melanie Marin, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lexie Elsworth, of Bryan, David (Marilyn) Elsworth, Jr., of Temperance, Michigan, LaVon (Roman) Kopinski, of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Ian (Laura) Elsworth, of Mio, Michigan, Eric Elsworth and Carl Elsworth, both of Bryan; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl J. Ellsworth, of Fisk, Missouri. A private memorial service was held for immediate family on Sunday, March 18. A memorial service for friends and extended family will be held at a later date. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
