Alta A. Franks

Alta A. Franks, age 85, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 11:01 A.M. on Sunday, March 11, 2012, in her home. Ms. Franks was a 1946 graduate of Pioneer High School and worked as an operator with Ohio Associated Telephone Company from 1946-1955 in Montpelier and then for General Telephone Company in Bryan, Ohio until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Madison Church of God. Alta A. Franks was born on January 24, 1927, in Bridgewater Township, the daughter of Calvin R. and Lizzie C. (Beck) Franks. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Corbin, of Arlington, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, and four brothers, Glen L. Franks, Richard E. Franks, Calvin E. Franks, and Robert Franks and one sister, L.C. Franks. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Randall S. Beck officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer, Ohio. Memorials are requested to Gideons International, Madison Church of God Building Fund or the Montpelier Senior Center.
