Dale L. English

Dale L. English, age 90, of Ney, Ohio, died at 7:55 P.M. on Sunday, February 12, 2012, shortly after admittance to Defiance Inpatient Hospice, one day short of his 91st birthday. Dale was a 1938 graduate of Bryan High School, where he participated in cross-country. He retired as a lab technician after 46 years with The Aro Corporation and served on the Ney town council for 34 years. Dale was a fan of everything Fairview and was a lifetime member of the Fairview Athletic Boosters. He and his wife were recognized as “Dedicated Sports Fans” by the OHSAA. He was a charter member of Sonrise Community Church of Ney, where he especially enjoyed the youth. He was also formerly involved with the Boy Scouts and Little League Baseball and enjoyed the outdoors and antiquing. Dale L. English was born on February 13, 1921, near Pulaski, Ohio, the son of Dan and Katie (Rupp) English. He married his wife of 70 years, Rose Mary Frank, on February 14, 1942, in Pioneer, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, Rose Mary, of Ney, are two sons, Dan English, of Haslet, Michigan, and Randy (Julie) English, of Defiance, Ohio; two daughters, Sue (Alan) Bowers and Joni (Kreg) Culler, both of Ney; nine grandchildren, Brian (Kristen) English, Kacee (Joe) Reid, Staci and Neeley Renollet, Brooke (Chris) Snyder, Ashleigh, Keenan and Kasen Culler, and Connor English; eight great-grandchildren, Erin, Sara and Brianna English, Rachel, Leah and Joey Reid, and Braylin and Bryleigh Snyder. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Galen, Walt and George, and two sisters, Faye English and Fern Ruff. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. in Sonrise Community Church, Ney, with Pastor Paul Myers officiating, with visitation in the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the Ney Cemetery. Dale will be missed greatly by his family. Memorials may be given to Sonrise Community Church or Fairview Athletic Boosters.
