Harold A. Cooley, age 86, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:45 A.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2012, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Cooley was a veteran of World War II, serving with Company D, 20th Infantry 6th Division in the Pacific Theatre and following the war was stationed in Korea. He worked for the Ohio Art Company in Bryan for twenty-seven years and then worked at Bard Manuafcturing for eleven years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Eastland Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, making toys, working in his shop and camping. Harold A. Cooley was born on June 9, 1925, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Alva J. and Ellen Ruthann (Wetmore) Cooley. He married Edna M. Clark on July 4, 1948, in Muncie, Indiana, and she survives. Survivors also include a daughter, Cynthia Missler, of Bryan; three sons, Richard (Cathy) Cooley and Keith (Melinda) Cooley, both of Bryan, and Gary (Sherri) Cooley, of Edgerton, Ohio; four grandsons, Brian, Robert and Michael Cooley, and Doug Missler; three granddaughters, Heather Siebenaler, Becky Farley and Monica Bryan; three step-grandchildren, Jason, Kevin and Andrea Ridgway; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beatrice Algeo, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Elmer Cooley, and one sister, Bernice Miller. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Jeff Sheldon officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials are requested to the Eastland Baptist Church Food Pantry or to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice.
