Franklin P. Wiles, age 70, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 2:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. Mr. Wiles’ work career began with Winzeler Construction, where he was a foreman. He then began a career in logging with Lavon Wiles Construction and as a buyer for Ney Lumber and then Dimension Hardwood Veneer. In retirement he worked for Ladd Logging. Frank was also a longtime 4-H advisor and helped to start the Fit and Trim 4-H Club. Franklin P. Wiles was born on December 16, 1941, near Pulaski, Ohio, the son of Daniel O. and Zena (Dauber) Wiles. He married his wife of fifty-three years, Judith (Kimpel) Wiles, on September 21, 1958, in Edgerton and she survives. Survivors also include his children, Pamela (Kenneth) Nester, of Edon, Ohio, Todd (Juliet) Wiles and Tanya Wiles, both of Edgerton; four grandchildren, Nichole (Greg) Bowman, Clint (Brandi) Nester, Travis Wiles and Megan Wiles; three great-grandchildren, Ella and Ethan Bowman and Tate Nester; one brother, Lavon (Marla) Wiles, of Hicksville, Ohio; one sister, Willadene Motter, of Bryan; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Kimpel, of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Franklin Motter. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton. Services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral in Edgerton with Pastor Byron Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton. Memorials are requested to the Williams County Conservation League or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
