B. Arlene Peter, age 89, of Farmer, Ohio, died at 5:06 A.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan, Ohio, where she was a resident, after an extended illness. Mrs. Peter was a graduate of Farmer High School and was a homemaker and farm wife who operated Pete’s Orchard near Farmer with her husband for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan and enjoyed being outdoors and playing cards. B. Arlene Peter was born on May 6, 1922, in Farmer Township of Defiance County, Ohio, the daughter of Harry and Laura Rebecca (Blosser) Lee. She married DeWayne V. Peter on May 22, 1943, in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy L. Vermillion, of Bryan, Ohio, and Deborah A. (Gary) Worman, of Big Long Lake, Indiana; one son, Tim D. Peter, of Edgerton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jennifer Nichols, Jessica Timbrook, and Kerrie Hutchison; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Kathryn Heisler, of Bryan. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Lee. Services for B. Arlene Peter will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Bryan, Ohio, with Reverend Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmer Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Church or to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice.
