Keith H. “Chester” Borton, age 54, of rural West Unity, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 2, 2011, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Chester was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for twenty-eight years and also by the Williams County Highway Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, gourd painting, weekend projects, and spending time with family and friends. Chester was born on July 12, 1957, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Gary H. and Janet C. (Figgins) Borton. He married Rosemary Vander Horst on July 23, 1988, at their home and she survives. Survivors also include his mother, Janet, of Alvordton, Ohio, one sister, Vickie Colon, of West Unity, and five brothers, Randy (Vicky) Borton, of West Unity, Denny (Cathy) Borton, of Talmadge, Ohio, Jeff Borton of West Unity, Mark (Toni) Borton, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Tony (Kelley) Borton, of Cygnet, Ohio, fourteen nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins, several in-laws, and an abundant number of very cherished friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Jay, his father, Gary H. Borton, and his grandparents, Clair and Lucille Borton and Devillo and Juanita Figgins. A celebration of Chester’s life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011, from 10:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. and 4:00- 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Contributions in the name of Chester H. Borton are requested to the family for distribution to a number of local charities.
