Jean E. Wehrle, age 88, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:10 P.M. on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Sun Bay Manor in Miami, Florida, where she had been residing since May 2008. Mrs. Wehrle was a lifelong resident of the Edgerton area and was a licensed practical nurse employed at Bryan Hospital for many years, mainly in the pediatric unit, well into her 70s. Jean was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She remained active at the hospital as a hospital volunteer after her retirement. Jean E. Wehrle was born on November 6, 1923, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard J. and Goldie (Cape) Herman. She married Robert A. Wehrle on February 12, 1942, in Edgerton and he preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Armand) Durrieu, of Miami, Florida, and Joann (Bill) Lorson, of Leesburg, Florida; two sons, including Charles (Laura) Wehrle, of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia (Herb) Kruse, of Westerville, Ohio, and Margaret (Donald) Lowe, of Toledo, Ohio; one brother, James (Beth) Herman, of Edgerton; and one sister-in-law, Kay Herman, also of Edgerton. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Evadne Casebere and Iris Siebenaler, and one brother, Clair Herman. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, followed by a scripture service at 8:00 P.M. Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Father Art Niewiadomski officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Edgerton. Memorials are requested to St. Mary Catholic Church or School.
