Terry L. Woodruff, age 70, of Des Moines, Iowa, and formerly of Blakeslee and Edon, Ohio, died at 6:35 P.M. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, where he was a resident, after a long illness. Mr. Woodruff was a 1959 graduate of Edon High School and served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. He was active in Boy Scouting for over thirty years, serving as a coordinator and also as a scoutmaster in Bryan, Edon and Iowa. Terry was a member of Bryan VFW Post #2489 and was a Life Member of the VFW. Throughout the years he was employed as a bank manager with General Financial and was also formerly an auctioneer. Terry Woodruff was born on May 31, 1941, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Pauline G. Karnes and Wilbur Woodruff. Survivors include a daughter, Charyl Ann (Terry Smith) Woodruff, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, two sons, William (Brenda) Woodruff, of Defiance, Ohio, and Scott (Melissa) Woodruff, of Des Moines, Iowa, eight grandchildren, four brothers, Thomas Karnes, of St. Louis, Missouri, Joseph (Judy) Hug, of Blakeslee, Ohio, Philip (Susan) Hug and Jerry A. (Wanda) Hug, both of Bryan, Ohio, one sister, Victoria (Steven) Mays, of Coldwater, Michigan, and his stepfather, Simon “Pete” (Emmie) Hug, of Blakeslee, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Anthony Hug. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor David Welker officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials are requested to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
