Kenneth V. Borton, age 77, of Edon, Ohio, died at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, where he was a patient, after an extended illness. Mr. Borton was employed by Ohio Art Company and Strydel as a purchasing agent for over forty years and then worked at Indiana Wire until his retirement. He was an avid woodworker and fisherman and was a member of the Edon Church of Christ. Kenneth V. Borton was born on October 11, 1934, near West Unity, Ohio, the son of Francis and Opal (Rhodes) Borton. He married Eleanor L. Newman on December 29, 1954, in Garrett, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2007. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Borton, of Edon; two sons, Jerry (Joan) Borton, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, and Eric (Bobbi) Borton, of West Unity, Ohio; three granddaughters, Desiree, Jennalee and Nikki; and five great-grandchildren, Elijah, Brooklyn, Mia, Mason and Dominic. He is also survived by three sisters, Dolleen (Floyd) Rohrs, of Antwerp, Ohio, Doris Brennan, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Harriett Williams, of Bryan, Ohio, and two brothers, Francis Borton, Jr., of Ney, Ohio, and Jim Borton, of Pioneer, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by one son, Steven, in 1957. Memorial services for Kenneth V. Borton will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. in the Edon Church of Christ with David LaDuke, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery.
