Ronda M. Kunkle, age 92, longtime resident of Kunkle, Ohio, died at 4:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Dream Haven in Edgerton, Ohio, where she was a resident. She retired from the United States Postal Service and had worked as a postal clerk in Kunkle and Pioneer. Ronda M. Kunkle was born on October 17, 1918, in Kunkle, the daughter of Harley and Mary (Freese) Barrett. She married Max L. Kunkle on May 16, 1934, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley A. Smith, of Bryan, three grandchildren, Douglas R. Smith, of Defiance, Brad A. (Joni) Smith, of Camden, Michigan, and Sherri L. (Bill) Peters, of Montpelier, Ohio, three great-grandchildren, Joshua Frazee, Bethany Repp, and Carling Belknap, and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Harley “Bud” (Lynn) Barrett, in Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister and brother-in-law, Frank and Florence Gross. Private grave side services and interment will be Floral Grove Cemetery near Pioneer, Ohio. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or to Dream Haven in Edgerton.
