Jessica L. Curtis, age 27, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Tuesday. Jessica was a 2002 graduate of Bryan High School, where she was active in the band and signal corps, and also graduated from Four County Career Center in the public safety program. She was currently attending Ross Medical in Fort Wayne, where she was studying to be a medical assistant, and was employed by All Caring Home Health in Defiance, Ohio. Jessica L. Curtis was born on January 6, 1984, the daughter of Jack L. and JoLynn (Brubaker) Curtis, and they survive in Bryan. Survivors also include one brother, LCpl Jasen Curtis, with the United States Marines, a sister, Janelle Curtis, of Bryan, her grandparents, Marsha and Steve Kaufman, of Bryan, Judy Curtis of Clayton, Michigan, and Diane Brubaker of Fayette, Ohio, her great-grandparents, Earl and Naomi Brubaker, of Napoleon, Ohio, and Laura Teel, of Bryan, her aunts and uncles, Debbie and Jerry Garza, of Wauseon, Ohio, Scott and Lea Brubaker, of Hudson, Michigan, Robert and Peggy Brubaker, of Fayette, Ohio, David and Christina Brubaker, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gary and Tina Roughton, of Defiance, Marc and Nikki Brubaker, also of Fayette, Holly and Clyde King of Wisconsin Dells, Kelly Whitten of North Carolina, Kay and Bill Ross, of Onsted, Michigan, Bob Curtis and Nathan Curtis, both of Clayton, Michigan, Jim and Brenda Curtis, of Jerome, Michigan, Betty and Don Bundy and Joyce Curtis-Sales, both of Adrian, Michigan. Also surviving are numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roger Brubaker and Robert Curtis, a maternal great-grandfather, Paul Teel, and an uncle, Dale Curtis. Services will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at 3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Ruth Ann Scoby officiating. Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan on Saturday, October 8, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and two hours prior to the service on Sunday, October 9, beginning at 1:00 P.M. Memorials are requested to the family to help defray expenses.
