Elaine J. Heisler

Elaine J. Heisler, age 73, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:23 A.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she had been a patient since September 7. Ms. Heisler was a graduate of Stryker High School and attended Fort Wayne Beauty College. She operated Elaine’s Beauty Shop in Bryan for many years and owned and operated Bottom’s Up Bar and Grill in Edgerton for the last six years. She was also a licensed real estate agent in Michigan and a member of the Eagles in Coldwater, Michigan. Elaine was an avid gardener and loved animals, her dog, Abby, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elaine J. Heisler was born on January 11, 1938, the daughter of Joseph and Susan (VanPoppel) Braeckeveldt. She is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Keith) Schwab, of Edgerton, one son, Tom (Erica) Heisler, of Bryan, six grandchildren, Nikki Uribes, Clint Heisler, Molly Hartman, Zach Heisler, Chelsey Larkin and Maddie Heisler, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Vickie Sue Braeckeveldt. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 11:00 A.M in St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Father Art Niewiadomski officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan. Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association.
