John C. “Zack” Zachrich, age 60, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Friday, August 19, 2011, in his home. Zack graduated from Defiance High School, attended Montana State University and graduated from Defiance College. He owned and operated the Bryan Wash and Fill for the last thirty-eight years, where he was a mentor to many young adults. His memberships included Orchard Hills Country Club and Bryan Moose Lodge #1064. Zack was a devoted husband, loving father and grandpa and enjoyed walking his dogs. He was known as an avid golfer and fun-loving storyteller who would light up a room when he entered it. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of calling him a friend. John C. Zachrich was born on September 24, 1950, in Defiance, Ohio, to Elmer “George” and Neva (Spangler) Zachrich. He married Myra Ann Shannon on May 29, 1971, in Defiance, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are one son, David (Julianne) Zachrich, of Lake Lure, North Carolina, two daughters, Michelle Zachrich and Neva (Scott) Westmoreland, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, five grandchildren, Baker, Cooper, Katie and Gates Westmoreland, and Kinley Zachrich, one sister, Ann (Rick) McLaren, of Hinsdale, Illinois, and his father-in-law, Paul Shannon, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services celebrating the life of John C. “Zack” Zachrich will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan with Father James Halleron officiating, followed by a luncheon in the church. Interment will be in Yackee Cemetery next to Hole #3 at Orchard Hills Country Club. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 22, 2011, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Memorials are requested to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Williams County Humane Society.
