Dana R. Speelman, age 68, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:05 A.M. on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Fountain Park Inn and Villas in Bryan, Ohio, after an illness of three months. Mr. Speelman was employed by Edgerton Manufacturing for twenty-two years until the plant closed and then worked as a polisher of surgical tools for NemcoMed in Hicksville for twenty-two years until his retirement. He was a member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233 for forty-five years and enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking. Dana R. Speelman was born on August 1, 1943, in Van Wert County, Ohio, the son of George I. and Luella Goldie (Roose) Speelman. He married Sonya K. Miller on June 25, 1982, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Tina (Wayne) Carroll, of Swanton, Ohio, Dana Speelman, Jr., and Tim (Teresa) Speelman, both of Bryan, Terena (Kevin) Miller, of Montpelier, Ohio, Sherri (Timothy) Barnhouse, of Carrollton, Ohio, Larry (Kim) McGuire, of Rootstown, Ohio, Sheila (Greg) Ange, of Stow, Ohio, Lara (Freddie) Joseph, of Toledo, Ohio, and Dena (Dan) Drenner, of Lambertville, Michigan, seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Geneva Flowers, Leroy (Sue) Speelman, and Dorothy (Gary) Beck, all of Bryan, and Diane Monroe, of Payne, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, an infant son, George, in 1968, a sister, Kay Frances Speelman, and four brothers, George Isaac, John, Cary Dean and Carl G. Speelman. Private visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials are requested to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice.
