David A. Karacson, age 62, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:34 P.M. on Monday, August 1, 2011, at the home of his sister near Paulding, Ohio, after an illness of four months, with hospice assisting. Mr. Karacson was a 1967 graduate of Defiance High School and served in the United States Navy from 1967-1969. He was stationed on the USS Lexington, where he worked in ship guidance. David was employed by Werlor in Defiance, Ohio, as a semi truck driver for fourteen years until his retirement due to illness in April of 2011. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, Bryan Knights of Columbus #3883, and the Bryan American Legion Post #284. David was also an avid fan of NASCAR racing, especially Rusty Wallace, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Detroit Tigers. David Alan Karacson was born on December 25, 1948, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Stephen and Betty (Allspach) Karacson. He married Teresa A. Sheets on May 6, 1978, at St. Stephen's The Bend Catholic Church and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two brothers, Thomas Karacson, of Darien, Illinois, and Daniel Karacson, of Defiance, one sister, Sue (George) Carnahan, of Paulding, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Marylu Karacson. Visitation for David A. Karacson will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday. Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend James Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan American Legion Post #284. Memorials are requested to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan American Legion, Hospice of Paulding County, or the family.
