Mary W. (Bojrab) Blazer, age 67, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus, Ohio, where she was a patient. Mrs. Blazer graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne and her Master's Degree in Education from Purdue University. Mary began her teaching career in Indiana and after moving to Bryan, taught at the Bryan City Preschool for seven years. She then taught in the Bryan City Schools, where she was a sixth grade language arts teacher until her retirement. She prided herself in "making grammar fun" and was known for inventing songs/raps to help her students learn and remember proper sentence structure. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan. Mary Blazer was born on February 15, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Jeanette (Frenn) Bojrab. She married David E. Blazer on June 7, 1969, in New Haven, Indiana, and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Marlo (partner, Stephanie Wilt) Blazer and Char (Wes) Hawkins, and a grandson, Sawyer Hawkins, all of Columbus; two sisters, Jan Bojrab and Joan Luther, and one brother, Fred (Andrea) Bojrab, all of Fort Wayne, and ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Robert Luther. Services celebrating the life of Mary Blazer will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father James Halleron officiating. The family will receive condolences and expressions of sympathy in the gathering area of the church from 8:00-10:00 A.M. prior to the service. A bereavement luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the church basement following services, with all invited to attend.
