David L. “Davey” Farrell, age 58, of Archbold, Ohio, died at 9:13 P.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, where he was a patient, after a three-year battle with cancer. Davey was a 1971 graduate of Bryan High School and his passion in life was playing his guitar, which gave him the opportunity to play in several bands throughout Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. He last played with the band Deja Blue. His music career gave him a strong following and during his battle with cancer his friends honored him with two benefits to help with his fight. David L. Farrell was born on April 29, 1953, in Edmore, Michigan, the son of Mick and Jean (Berndt) Farrell. Davey is survived by his mother, Jean Geesey (and special friend, Howard Torrence), of Archbold, two brothers, Michael (Paulette) Farrell, of Coldwater, Michigan, and Rodney (Sue) Farrell, of Edmore, Michigan, his nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles, including Loran and Sharon Farrell of Bryan, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Mick Farrell, his stepfather, Paul Geesey, and his grandparents. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Crystal Goodnight officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, 6817 State Route 66 North, Defiance, Ohio 43512.
