Leota E. Keppeler

Leota E. Keppeler, age 90, died at 11:05 P.M. on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where she had been a resident for two years. Mrs. Keppeler, was certified nurses aide and was employed by Park View Nursing Center for twelve years. She also helped start the Williams County Home Health Agency where she worked and then worked as a private duty home health aide for several years. Later she was employed by Allied Molded for a number of years. Leota was a long time active member of the Lick Church of the Brethren in Bryan and the Farm Bureau Council. She shared her love of poetry by creating books of memories and giving them as a special gift to friends and relatives. Leota E. Keppeler was born on March 13, 1921 in St. Joe, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse (Jay) and Della (Mann) Hart. She married Paul R. Keppeler on October 3, 1940, in Arcanum, Ohio and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1995. Mrs. Keppeler is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Hopper, of West Unity, Ohio, two sons, Roderic Keppeler, of Edgerton, and Norman Keppeler, of Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Keppeler, of Edgerton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in by her parents, one son, Jared A. Keppeler, two sisters, Annabelle Hart and her twin, Lucille Monosmith, and five brothers, Leoral, Henry, Jesse, James and Walter. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, July 25, 2011. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Lick Creek United Brethren Church, Bryan, with Reverend Eric Wetzel officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Memorials are requested to Lick Creek Church of the Brethren or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
