Ellen Grandey

D. Ellen Grandey, age 86, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 6:14 A.M. on Sunday, June 26, 2011, in her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Mrs. Grandey was a member of the Emanuel United Methodist Church near Edgerton, the United Methodist Women, of which she served in many offices throughout the years, and the Priscilla Club. Ellen enjoyed artwork, painting, and being with family and friends. D. Ellen Grandey was born on April 27, 1925, in Butler, Indiana, the daughter of Alvin and Mabel (Mutzfeld) Steckley. She married Wayne E. Grandey on October 6, 1946, in Butler and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Shirley (Chuck) Snyder, of Decatur, Indiana, Roger (Lynne) Grandey, of Hicksville, Ohio, Dennis (Barri) Grandey, of Sidney, Ohio, Janet (Doug) Brown, of Carmel, Indiana, and Joyce (Jon) Myers, of Galloway, Ohio, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton. Services celebrating the life of Ellen Grandey will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 1:00 P.M. in the Emanuel United Methodist Church near Edgerton with Reverend R.L. Barnett officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties or to the Emanuel United Methodist Church in Edgerton.
