Carl G. Speelman, age 69, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, in his home after an illness of six months. Mr. Speelman was a veteran of the United States Marines, serving from 1958-1962. He was employed by Bard Manufacturing as a machine operator and spent twenty years as a lead man, retiring in 2005 with thirty-four years of service. Carl G. Speelman was born on July 27, 1941, in Scott, Ohio, the son of George I. and Luella Goldie (Roose) Speelman. He married Helen I. Ridgway on May 8, 1966, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Michael (Dawn) Speelman, of Bryan, one daughter, Tricia Speelman, of Britton, Michigan, and three grandchildren, Skyler and Bailee Speelman and Izaak Matthews. Also surviving are his siblings, Geneva Flowers, Dana (Sonja) Speelman, Leroy (Sue) Speelman, and Dorothy (Gary) Beck, all of Bryan, and Diane Monroe, of Payne, Ohio. He was preceded in death by an infant son, George, in 1968, a sister, Kay Francis Speelman, and three brothers, George Isaac, John and Cary Dean Speelman. Private visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. A memorial reception will be held in the family home at 307 East Bement Street in Bryan on Saturday, May 14, 2011, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
