Ralph E. Stambaugh, age 78, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:09 A.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, where he was a patient. Mr. Stambaugh was employed at Challenge-Cook Brothers for twenty-seven years until the plant closed and then worked at The Aro Corporation for fifteen years until his retirement. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, golfer and fisherman and enjoyed playing shuffleboard and pool. He was a member of Bryan Am-Vets Post #54 and Bryan Eagles, Aerie #2233. Ralph E. Stambaugh was born on November 1, 1932, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Harold and Pauline (Mohr) Stambaugh. He married Diana M. Kroeckel, which ended in divorce, and she preceded him in death on December 25, 2003. He then married Shirley Hare and she preceded him in death on April 23, 2007. Mr. Stambaugh is survived by two daughters, Stephanie (Brent) Damman, of Napoleon, Ohio, and Stacey (Gary) Nungester, of Bryan, one son, Scott (Carolyn) Stambaugh, of Bryan, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Stambaugh. Services celebrating the life of Ralph E. Stambaugh will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011, at 3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Private interment will take place in Floral Grove Cemetery near West Unity, Ohio. Visitation will be held in the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 P.M. Memorials are requested to the American Lung Association.
