William J. Drosky, age 85, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:15 P.M. on Monday, May 2, 2011, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, where he was a patient. Mr. Drosky was veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army 9th Infantry. After his tour he re-enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Liege, Belgium, and served in Alaska following World War II. He was employed by Chem-Flo Corporation in Little Falls, New Jersey, as a draftsman designer until his retirement in 1989 after twenty years of service. He and his wife, Ruth, lived in Little Falls, New Jersey, for forty years and moved to Bryan in 1991. He was a Life member of the Bryan American Legion Post #284. William J. Drosky was born on April 8, 1926, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the son of Theodore and Mary (Dobrovich) Drosky. He married his wife of sixty years, Ruth A. Meffert, on January 21, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Kathy A. (and her husband, Richard P. Cooper) Drosky, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Nancy (Cedric) Gills, of Payson, Arizona, a grandson, James (Melissa) Phelan IV, of Bayonne, New Jersey, and a granddaughter, Megan B. Phelan, of Denver, Colorado. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment with grave side military rites will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
