Angela Marie Mitchell, age 26, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 12:20 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2011, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Montefiore/Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, following a fifteen-month battle with complications of a rare form of pancreatitis. A lifelong illness resulted in a five-organ digestive transplant on September 11, 2005, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Starzl Transplant Institute in Pittsburgh, from which she recovered and was able to return to a normal lifestyle and was attending Northwest State until her recent illness. Angie attended Four County Career Center in Health Occupations and was a 2003 graduate of Bryan High School. She was a ten-year member of Kid Clovers 4-H Club, in which she took many animal projects, winning many awards. She was a member of Bryan First Brethren Church, of the Classic Feathers Bird Club for three years, of which she served as secretary. She was also a member of the Oley Foundation and was awarded the Mead Johnson Enteral Award in 1993. Her first job was as a paper carrier for The Bryan Times with her brothers. Then she went on to work for Susie’s Lunch in Bryan. During her senior year she began working for Interim Healthcare in Defiance, Ohio, as a home health aide. She enjoyed all types of animals and worked part-time at the Bryan Area Animal Hospital for a year. Angie also enjoyed going to drag races with her dad and two brothers and did some drag racing of her own at Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio. She attended Camp Make-A-Dream in Montona two times. Angela Marie Mitchell was born on November 21, 1984, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Merril L. and Linda S. (North) Mitchell. She is survived by her parents, of Bryan, two brothers, Michael (Jamie) Mitchell and Jeffrey Mitchell, both of Edon, Ohio, her grandparents, Paul and Kathleen Mitchell, Walter "Jack" North, and Mary Carter, all of Bryan, three nieces, Kailee and Olivia Mitchell and Maggie Carter, and a nephew, Taj Mitchell. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and a special friend, Cody Rhodes, of Bryan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastors Sam Shultz and Fred Brandon officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan. Memorials are requested to Family House at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, the Oley Foundation in Albany, New York, or to Angie's Fund at Bryan First Brethren Church.
