Donovan J. Vorthman, age 70, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:59 P.M. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Community Hospitals and Welless Centers in Bryan after sudden illness. Mr. Vorthman was a graduate of Wauseon High School and graduated from ITT with a degree in drafting. He worked for TRW Automotive in Fayette, retiring with fifteen years of service. He was a member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233 and was a former member of the Bryan Moose Lodge. Donovan J. Vorthman was born on January 10, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Oscar M. and Zola M. (Sealey) Vorthman. He married Mary Ann Sanchez on February 19, 1994, in Pioneer, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Carlos Sanchez, Joseph (Irene) Sanchez, Mary Jo Sanchez, and Michael Sanchez, all of Bryan, and Christina (Lonnie) Smith, of Antwerp, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers, Robert (Susie) Vorthman, of Bryan, and George Vorthman, of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Donovan, Jr. and Kenny Vorthman. Visitation for Donovan J. Vorthman will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 10:30 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Private interment will take place in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
