Wilson J. Shetler, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:58 P.M. on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio, where he was a resident, after a brief illness. Mr. Shetler was a farmer and worked for Stine Lumber and Mohawk Motors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and camping at Huyck Lake. He also was a longtime member of the Evansport Fox Hunters Association. Wilson will be remembered as a great story teller who has held many audiences captive with his ability to remember every detail. Wilson J. Shetler was born on November 4, 1916, in Medina County, Ohio, the son of Edward O. and Ollie E. ((Baker) Keener) Shetler. He married Vivian Lirot on June 3, 1939, in Angola, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2000, after sixty-one years of marriage. Mr. Shetler is survived by three daughters, Sharon (John) Brownlee, of Englewood, Florida, Ruth Ann Hurley, of Bryan, and Diane (Phillip) Frager, of Edgerton, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, two step- great-great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Velma Wineland. In addition to his wife, preceding him in death were his parents, one granddaughter, one brother and three sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Jay McMillen officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens near Defiance, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the American Heart Association or to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice.
