Bobbie Elden Deetz, 76, passed away at Hillside Country Living on April 11, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Bobbie was born on July 22, 1934, to Wilma (Blair) and Harold Deetz. He married Evelyn Eidenier on June 10, 1956, and she survives. Bobbie was a 1952 graduate of Montpelier High School. He served in the United States Army, worked for the Wabash Railroad, owned Deetz’s Restaurant in Pioneer, was employed by Mohawk and later retired from the Aro Corporation. He was co-owner of Evelyn’s Excursions in Pioneer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Alexandra Lashaway, and sisters, Mary Ellen Brandt and Lorraine Rockey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters: Joni (Kevin) Lashaway, of West Unity, Cathy (Richard) Selgo, of Archbold, Jill (Scott) Miller, of North Adams, Michigan, Lori (Dan) Pilmore, of Pioneer, and Wendy Deetz, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, his grandchildren, Ryan (Sandi) Lashaway, Lindsay Lashaway, Nick Lashaway, Jayson (Olivia) Selgo, Derek (Danielle) Selgo, Brittany Doane, Quinn Miller, Jacob Pilmore, Trenton Pilmore, and Colton Pilmore, Jordan (Robert) Garcia, and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Marjorie Buell, of Angola, Indiana and Terry Cain, of Spotsylvania, Vriginia and one brother, William Deetz, of Montpelier. Private family services will be held on Tuesday at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with a Celebration of Life held at the Pioneer Community Center on Saturday, April 16 from 2:00-6:00 P.M.
