Donald A. Brown

Donald A. Brown, age 88, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:30 A.M. on Monday, April 4, 2011, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, where he was a resident. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the United States Army. For eighteen years, he was a store manager for Sears, many of those years in Bryan. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Northwest Chapter #45 RAM, Bryan Council #101, Bryan Commandery #74, Northwest High Twelve #535 and the Order of the Eastern Star, Bryan Chapter #248. He attended Zion Lutheran Church, West Jefferson, Ohio. Donald A, Brown was born on September 20, 1922, in New Madison, Ohio, the son of Virgil Albert and Stella Marie (Brown) Brown. He married Florence Maxine Oxley on December 21, 1948, in New Madison, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on June 12, 1995. Surviving are one daughter, Linda (George) Nailor, of Terre Haute, Indiana; two sons, Larry (Jacklyn) Brown, of Hicksville, Ohio, and Chris (Velda) Brown, of Bryan; ten grandchildren, Laura Nailor Warner, Suzanne Nailor Dayton, Carissa Ann (Chris) Savage, Sara Beth Brown, Gregory (April) Brown, Christopher (Amanda) Brown, Toby (Christina) Brown, Nathan Biniak, Curtis (Angela) Biniak and Kimberly Biniak; and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were a sister, Velma Armacost, and an infant sister. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with a Masonic service to follow at 8:00 P.M. Services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Dr. C. George Fry officiating. Interment will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
