Naomi L. Darr, age 90, of Edon, Ohio, died at 1:10 P.M. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, Ohio. Mrs. Darr was a 1938 graduate of Edgerton High School. She was a member of the Edon American Legion Auxiliary, Elliot Chapter #271, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Edgerton Church of Christ. Naomi L. Darr was born on October 7, 1920, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Sindel) Hootman. She married Gerald A. Darr on July 8, 1941, in Georgetown, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2000. Mrs. Darr is survived by two daughters, Linda (Van) Gehl, of Auburn, Indiana, and Carol (Fred) Moore, of Defiance, Ohio, one son, Thomas (Kathryn) Darr, of Plymouth, Wisconsin, nine grandchildren, Thomas Darr, Tim (Lisa) Darr, Tad (Marie) Darr, Kristin (Darr) and Joe Hoem, Melynda (Gehl) and Eric Deardorf, Melissa (Gehl) and Jamie Held, Kami (Moore) and Eric Diehl, Todd (Ann) Moore, and Reid (Jasmine) Moore, and twenty great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were two brothers, Audrew and Gaylord Hootman, and one sister, Velta Bechtol. Grave side services for Naomi L. Darr will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton with D.V. Dillinger, Minister officiating. Memorials in the name of Naomi L. Darr may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
