Annabel L. Coles, age 82, of Edon, Ohio, died at 7:08 P.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was a patient. Annabel was a lifelong resident of Edon and graduated from Edon High School in 1946 as the class valedictorian. She was a loving farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was active in the Edon United Methodist Church, where she was a member and longtime secretary of the United Methodist Women and was a chair of the funeral dinner committee for many years. She was also a member of the Edon American Legion Auxiliary. Annabel L. Coles was born on April 17, 1928, in Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Willis and Dorothy (Fix) Thompson. She married Norman D. Coles on June 1, 1946, in Angola, Indiana, and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Paula (Don) Kramer, and one son, Randy (Janette) Coles, both of Edon, three grandchildren, Ashleigh (Jeremy) Trent, of Delta, Ohio, Seth (Angie) Coles and Abbey Kramer, both of Edon, and three great-grandchildren, Grace Reitzel and Emma and Brady Trent. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary K. Allomong. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon. Services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. in the Edon United Methodist Church with Reverend David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Edon United Methodist Church.
