Roy M. Saneda

Roy Michael Saneda, age 73, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:11 P.M. on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where had been a patient since February 23, with his family at his side. Mr. Saneda was a 1955 graduate of Bryan High School, where he was active in sports, a love that he kept throughout life by coaching boys and girls in baseball, softball and basketball in his spare time. He attended Ohio Northern University and was a surveyor for Williams County for many years before going to work for Anderson-Vreeland in Bryan, where he remained for over twenty years. After retiring he worked as an appraiser for Appraisal Research in Findlay, Ohio. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan, VFW Post #2489 Auxiliary, of which he was currently secretary, and the Williams County Health Board, of which he was the current president. He served on the Board of Elections in Williams County and was active in the Williams County Republican Party. Roy M. Saneda was born on September 6, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Frank and Virginia (Muñoz) Saneda, Sr. He married Anna Marie Prasek on March 17, 1972, in Bryan and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Timothy (Lisa) Saneda, of San Diego, California, and Thomas (Laura) Saneda, of Bryan, two daughters, Tori Saneda, of Seattle, Washington, and Theresa Durbin, also of Bryan, his grandchildren, Kara (Phillip), Keshia (Mark), Katlin, Kelsey, Alicson, Brycen, John (Jennifer) and Jill, six great-grandchildren and four brothers, Frank Saneda, Jr., of Bryan, Walter (Mary) and James (Teresa) Saneda, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Robert (Bonnie) Saneda, of West Unity, Ohio. Awaiting Roy on the other side are his parents and his siblings, Jerry, Virginia and John. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery near Bryan. Memorials are requested to the Bryan VFW Post #2489 Auxiliary or to the American Diabetes Association.
