Eugene C. Miller, age 88, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 2:25 A.M. on Friday, February 18, 2011, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was patient. Mr. Miller retired as a self-employed contractor and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church near Edgerton. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Bryan VFW Post #2489. Eugene C. Miller was born on January 14, 1923, in Milford Township of Defiance County, Ohio, the son of Zeno and Lulu (Heisler) Miller. He married Welma J. Miller on July 19, 1950, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2009. Mr. Miller is survived by two grandsons, Michael Meyer, of Edon, Ohio, and Eugene Meyer, of Butler, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Chawn Calloway, Emma Gene Meyer and Braylon Meyer; three nieces, Debbie Frances, Lisa Fast and Lori Fast-Minkema; one nephew, Lyle Fast; one son-in-law, George Roehrs, of Edgerton; and a brother-in-law, Robert Fast, of Edgerton. Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were his daughter, Marti Roehrs, his parents, one sister, Marcia Fast, and a nephew, Lonnie Fast. Visitation for Eugene C. Miller will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in Zion Lutheran Church, near Edgerton, with Reverend Lanny Zup officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the church. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials are requested to Zion Lutheran Church.
