John H. Meyers, age 78, of Edon, Ohio, died at 9:15 A.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient. Mr. Meyers was a lifelong farmer and operated Meyers Egg Farm near Edon for thirty-two years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon and the Edon Lions Club since 1951. He formerly served on the board of directors of the Edon Co-op and was also a former bus driver for the Edon Northwest School system for ten years. John H. Meyers was born on April 30, 1932, in Edon, Ohio, the son of Hubert and Myrrel Margaret (Keppler) Meyers. He married Patricia R. Esterline on September 27, 1952, in Edon, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Larry (Debroh) Meyers, of Edon, four daughters, Barbara (Richard) Hartley, of Edgerton, Ohio, Linda (Terry) Wilhelm, of Hudson, Indiana, Sandra (David) Wehrle and Diana (Steve) Ordway, both of Edon, thirteen grandchildren, Scott (Nicole) Hartley, Bethany (Nathan) Munger, Tonya (Scott Fee) McGinnis, Jennie (McGinnis) Russell, Tammy McGinnis, Tabitha (Justin) Impton, Jake Wilhelm, Todd Meyers, Kim Wehrle, Kreg (Trista) Wehrle, Amber Wehrle, Krystina Bendross and Brandon Ordway, and eighteen great-grandchildren, Micah Hartley, Kayleigh and Karli Munger, Hannah Smead, Destiny Emmons, Makayla, Dylan and Andrew Fee, Alicia Ford, Olivia Weinreich, Jayden and Riley Impton, Shelby and Benjamin Meyers, Alexzander Kurtz, Braedyn and Trenton Wehrle and Shannaya Bendross. Visitation for John H. Meyers will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, from 2:00-7:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Services will follow at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Reverend Clayton J. Bailey officiating. Private interment will be held in the Edon Cemetery. Memorials in the name of John H. Meyers are requested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or to the Edon Lions Club.
